An unintended expat blogger behind Shared Circle Home

Hello, I am Anna
I’m a project manager, a parent, and an expat living in Rome, Italy.
Several years ago I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary contract evolved into a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Began
Moving to Italy wasn't in the master plan. Like many international moves, it started as a job chance and soon grew into something far more significant.
The early months were demanding — fresh systems, new routines, new expectations. Routine tasks felt tougher than they ought to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, doubt, and plenty of hands-on learning. Yet, gradually routines took shape. We found places that fit us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Created Shared Circle Home
Most online guidance hovered between corporate relocation advice and surface-level travel tips. What was missing was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site exists to bridge that gap — practical advice drawn from real life in Italy.
What This Website Represents (And What It Does Not)
This site is:
- Practical insights from living in Italy
- Centered on family life and daily experiences
- Updated only when a real change occurs
This site isn’t:
- A resource from a tourism board
- A platform for sponsored reviews
- Just another generic travel blog
Looking Forward
Our stay in Italy continues, and so does learning. As long as the information remains helpful, I’ll keep documenting what we find.
If you have questions about family life in Rome or anywhere in Italy, feel free to reach out.
Best wishes,
Anna
